Long before Amihairco existed, there was a little girl braiding her Barbie’s hair in Africa, dreaming about beauty. While her mother invested in her sister’s cosmetology classes, she quietly taught herself — practicing on dolls, then on friends, then on anyone who would let her.
When her family moved to America, the passion never left. In middle school she started braiding. In high school she landed a chair at a local braiding shop. She took two years of cosmetology. She wasn’t just interested in hair — she was called to it.
After earning a business degree, she began testing vendors and making her own wigs to wear. She wore them so well that people begged to buy them off her head. Literally.
She wasn’t a wig seller yet. But she was becoming one.
After her second child, postpartum hair loss changed everything. She built glueless wigs that fit her real life — a mom, a professional, a woman who needed hair she could trust every single day.
